SLO High School Solar PV
A 681.15kW dc STC design/build photovoltaic system consisting of 29 solar canopies supported on concrete reinforced caissons approximately 14’ below grade. The design utilized 2,390 Chaori 285W panels and a combination of 52 Power-One 10kW and 12kW 480V string inverters. Due to the distance from the arrays to the point of common coupling, two 1,000kVA 4.160kV transformers were used to minimize voltage drop and the cost associated with the distance. Various ADA upgrades were required in the parking lot areas. The project was assigned a Project Inspector certified by the Department of State Architects whom performed routine inspections and coordinated all special inspection requirements.
Patton State Hospital Solar PV
The project consisted of clearing and grubbing approximately 8 acres and installing high perimeter chain link fence with access gates. 4,104 Chaori 275W modules were installed on a single-axis tracking system. The tracking system was supported on 941 W6x9 and W6x15 H-piles driven approximately 7 - 9’ below grade. The modules were terminated into 28 combiner boxes which transitioned into 3 re-combiners. 3 Advanced Energy 333kW bi-polar inverters were used to interconnect into the grid at 4.106kV. A soil stabilizer was installed afterwards to reduce dust and erosion. A SWPPP plan was developed by the DeWalt Corporation and maintained throughout the project.
