Reno ESP
Consulting and Estimating
ESP prepares cost estimates for projects ranging from thousands to billions of dollars. Cost consulting services fall into three categories:
- Independent Cost Estimating: This is a third party approach to cost estimating that allows ESP to provide, unbiased deliverables independent of construction activity. Key points of this methodology include: estimate reports that summarize or compare key historical cost values from similar projects; cost targets for the company; benchmarks from external sources; and estimated value where existing data is not available. This type of cost estimating is an effective way to separate estimating from the construction process thereby injecting an added layer of quality and valuation independence for clients.
- Energy Efficiency Estimating: With this service ESP combines various cost estimating techniques with expertise in energy efficiency implementation. This includes energy program management, renewable energy systems and, if needed, recommendations on how to best achieve energy efficiency goals. As part of this service ESP generates reports that demonstrate cost/energy savings as well as life cycle analysis and financial pro forma. This type of estimating can also be applied to clients who hold LEED certification as a goal.
- Conceptual Estimating: There are two key steps in this estimating service: identification and feasibility analysis.
- The identification step addresses project scope and development process at a conceptual level to include asset solution alternatives.
- The feasibility step addresses schedule planning and development, cost estimating, resource planning, value analysis/engineering and risk management – again, at a conceptual level of detail.
- The identification step addresses project scope and development process at a conceptual level to include asset solution alternatives.
Although certain services delivered by ESP are designed to address energy efficiency, these services also mesh perfectly with projects that do not hold “efficiency” as a main goal.
