Matthew J. RenoMatthew J. Reno
CEO-Founder / Director of Preconstruction

Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego while he worked as an apprentice and journeyman carpenter. Reno Contracting, Inc. first started as a partnership called MQ Construction, but in May 1993, the firm’s name took its present form. As the Founder/CEO and owner of Reno Contracting, Inc., Matt originally focused on specializing in concrete tilt-up construction, and the company has since expanded to multi-story, steel-frame buildings, complex tenant improvements, laboratory facilities and sustainable projects, including solar. Since 1993, the company has developed strong industry relationships and a loyal client base, which includes The Blackmore Company, Kilroy Realty Corporation, Cisterra Development, Sudberry Properties, Marriott Hotels, and ResMed, among many others.

Philanthropic endeavors are important to Matt and Reno Contracting, so he gives generously to his favorite local charities: The Warrior Foundation, Big Brothers and Sisters of San Diego County, Navy League/Homefront San Diego, YMCA of San Diego, American Heart Association, Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, Armed Services YMCA, Multi-Cultural Contractors Association and many others. The Annual Reno Contracting Charity Golf Tournament raises money for the “Warrior Foundation” helping the wounded military coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Matt is a devoted father of two children, has been the coach and biggest fan of his children’s sports endeavors, and enjoys fishing, hunting and traveling with the family. His personal philosophy is, “You need to figure out what you want to be and then be the best at it.”
