Alliance with Coyle Residential Fuels Reno’s Entry into New Market
Reno Contracting has formed a joint venture with Coyle Residential, a full-service general contractor specializing in high density, multi-family mixed use and town home design coordination and construction. Under the agreement, Reno and San Jose-based Coyle will work on a project-specific basis, combining their respective specialties in large-scale design-build projects.
The joint venture offers Reno the opportunity to broaden its scope of services by entering the residential market. The first project of the joint venture is a multi-family apartment building consisting of 271 units with a parking structure, located in San Jose, to begin in April 2012.
"The alliance with Coyle Residential is a forward-looking step for Reno Contracting. Known for our work as a leading build-to-suit general contractor in Southern California, we are pleased to embark on a joint venture that allows us to apply our design-build and energy efficiency expertise to the residential market," said Reno President Walt Fegley. "We are particularly pleased to work with a firm as well respected as Coyle, and with one that shares our philosophy of helping to achieve maximum performance and value through the management of the design and construction process."
Additional projects beyond the inaugural collaboration are expected in the future.

Hotel Indigo Gets Renovation
Reno served as the general contractor on a renovation project to help launch the Hotel Indigo in Del Mar in January. The project included renovation to the existing 94-room Best Western Stratford Inn of Del Mar to achieve rebranding as the Hotel Indigo. The renovation included demolition of the existing sitework and lobby building for construction of a new 4,500 sq. ft. building that houses a reception area, lobby, sundry, bar, fireplace lounge, kitchen, restrooms and offices, in addition to a 2,000 sq. ft. pool view terrace.
The project also involved demolition of an existing hotel room for construction of an ocean view terrace, as well as renovation of the Level 3 south wing hotel rooms. The project team included: Robin Delaney (Project Manager), Vince Gorman (Superintendent) and Curtis Brooks (Project Engineer).
