More and more owners and developers are receiving the benefits of sustainable construction and want their buildings LEED certified by the USGBC. As a leader in green building practices, Reno Contracting has turned to San Diego’s Drew George & Partners (DGP). They are experts in all phases of design and construction relating to sustainable building and the certification process. Walt Fegley, President of Reno, and Drew George have worked together to develop Reno’s growing green team. Drew was instrumental at the inception of the Reno Green Building program by instructing a full day workshop which focused on learning the LEED for New Construction Rating System and how Reno’s scope of work could help projects achieve LEED Certification. The class was attended by approximately 30 Reno employees, including superintendents, project managers, and estimators.
As the green movement gains momentum, Reno Contracting has been recognized by Engineering News-Record as one of the nation’s Top Fifty Green Contractors, as Reno assists owners, developers, architects and engineers into the green movement.
Specialized Consulting Services
DGP has more than 20 years' experience in the design and construction industry. For the last 10 years their emphasis has been on sustainable design and construction. DGP consults with design teams and owners during all phases of building, offering system and material recommendations. They verify and document compliance for the LEED rating system. To date, they’ve consulted on more than 100 projects ranging in value from $1.3 to $165 million dollars, with projects located throughout the United States. Drew has served on the national board of the USGBC and is a founding member of the Washington D.C. and San Diego Chapters.
Most recently, Drew has worked with Reno Contracting on the LEED certification for BioMed Realty’s Illumina building and Kilroy Realty’s Sabre Springs Building III. Sabre Springs was awarded San Diego’s first LEED Silver Certified building for its core and shell in late 2008.
