Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo Wins
ABC San Diego's Excellence in Construction Award for a healthcare facility |
“I’m compelled to recognize the remarkable job your team has done in delivering this highly complex project ahead of schedule and under budget. Reno Contracting stepped up to the challenge and did not disappoint. In fact, our expectations were exceeded…”
Janice Cruz, Project Manager, FD&C
Scripps Health
After two years of construction, the $51 million state-of-the-art Scripps Rancho Bernardo outpatient clinic opened this fall to serve the needs of the rapidly growing local community. The new facility is designed to enhance the patient’s experience with new environmental features providing more natural light than is standard in most hospitals. This modern structure features:
- highly advanced surgery center and recovery bays
- fully digital radiology department and MRI
- general surgery and organ transplant services
- expanded urgent care center
- sports medicine facility
- primary care services.
More than 250 employees representing 30 medical and surgical specialties will help serve the more than 250,000 patients expected to visit the clinic in the next year.
With our track record in aggressive schedules and pricing, accurate cost estimating, plus our past experience with TI, Reno was awarded the Scripps Clinic project over four competing contractors.
Originally slated for completion in October 2008, construction was completed two months ahead of schedule. “Our dedicated subcontractors, the clear, systematic day-to-day documentation of the project, and the smooth transition from shell construction to the TI, allowed us to complete this project ahead of schedule and within budget,” said Kevin Horst, Reno Project Manager.
