Technology Moves the Industry Forward

Reno Contracting has been leading the construction industry in developing and utilizing sophisticated software for preconstruction services and through a project’s completion. We were a premier sponsor for the recent AGC Southern California Construction Technology Expo held on October 29. Reno’s Ed Wenz was the moderator on the Building Information Modeling (BIM) panel. As the Committee Chair of AGC’s Technical Committee, Ed holds a leadership role in engaging with industry professionals to advance the knowledge of users on software and technology in our business.

The five educational sessions included topics such as:

• paperless environments
  
• project virtualization
  
• estimating and project management
  
• disaster recovery
  
• server utilization.

With more than 50 exhibitors,1,500 attendees and educational forums, the AGC knows the significance technology plays in the construction industry and will host this event in 2009.

Trends in Estimating: Increasingly Competitive Bidding, Customized Software, 5-D Modeling

We’re One of San Diego’s Fastest Growing Companies

Reno Contracting placed in the top 100 of the San Diego Business Journal’s annual Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies. Reno earned its spot with their solid business plan, superior construction execution, commitment to going green, accurate estimating, proficient scheduling and unparalleled service. “It’s an honor,” says Reno Contracting’s President Walt Fegley. "Our commitment to quality work, understanding and meeting our clients’ budgets and schedules will undoubtedly keep us ahead of the curve.”

To land a spot on the prestigious list, Reno Contracting submitted an application, amongst more than 150 qualifying companies. To qualify, a company must be located in San Diego County, be privately and independently owned, and not be a subsidiary of another company. Revenues must have reached at least $200,000 in 2005. The judges evaluated Reno’s performance and fiscal information for the past three years.

According to the San Diego Business Journal President and Publisher, Armon Mills, “the final list is a resource of great importance in terms of position based on the strength and diversity of the San Diego business community. The 100 companies on this list represent the best and brightest…”
