RENO CONTRACTING PRESIDENT ELECTED TO THE ASSOCIATED GENERAL CONTRACTORS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

San Diego, California – Walt Fegley, President of Reno Contracting, San Diego’s fifth largest general contractor, has been elected to the San Diego Chapter of the Associated General Contractors 2008 Board of Directors. The swearing-in ceremony of the new board was held on January 29th during an installation dinner at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla, California, attended by more than 550 guests.

As a well-known and respected leader within the building industry, Walt Fegley’s knowledge and experience will assist the Board with their efforts in guiding and setting policy for the association. The AGC establishes policy and action plans for:

• government relations and political action;
• labor relations including wage rates, agreements and union contracts; and
• safety, education and apprenticeship programs.

Responding to the election to the AGC Board of Directors, Fegley noted “The dynamic nature of the construction industry demands focused involvement to ensure its successes, both today and in the future.”  Fegley’s continued community and business involvement has already positioned him as a key decision maker in San Diego, including serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the East County YMCA and for the San Diego Rotary Club. Prior to being named to AGC’s Board, he served on the organization’s Executive Committee.

Fegley joined Reno Contracting as founder Matt Reno’s first Project Manager. Working closely with Mr. Reno, they built a construction firm that today ranks as Southern California’s premier general contractor. In 2005, they were named General Building Contractor of the Year by the AGC’s San Diego Chapter along with winning numerous awards for projects such as a 2007 Merit Award for DiamondView Tower.
