Reno Contracting Completes Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo

San Diego, California (October 13, 2008)–The new Scripps Clinic medical facility located in Rancho Bernardo is now complete. The $51 million project was built by San Diego-based general contractor Reno Contracting, on behalf of their developer-client Kilroy Realty Corporation.

The six-story medical center is located directly adjacent to the 25-year-old existing Scripps Clinic that the new facility replaces. The new state-of-the-art-designed facility was planned to not only meet today’s, but the future’s healthcare needs of the rapidly growing North County region of San Diego. The new clinic is twice the size of the current facility.

The 150,000 square foot clinic houses a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center and recovery bays, a fully digital radiology department, MRI facilities, general surgery and organ transplant services, as well as an expanded urgent care center, a sports medicine unit and more space to provide primary care services. It also has an Ambulatory Surgery Center and a five-level concrete parking structure. Overall, the new Scripps Clinic facility provides its staff and customers with a superior healthcare environment.

Reno was originally contracted by Kilroy Realty, the developer of the building, to construct the shell and core of the facility, and was later hired by Scripps to build the tenant improvements.
