    Chris Heim
    Chris Heim
    Project Director

    Chris started working in the construction industry in 1977. After graduating from Colorado State University in 1983 with a degree in Industrial Construction Management, Chris worked for a national general contractor as a Superintendent and Project Manager building restaurants nationwide. In 1989, Chris joined MQ Construction, where he first met Matt Reno and Walt Fegley. Fours years later, when Reno Contracting was created, Chris became a Project Manger. Chris has worked on many pivotal projects, including Intuit, ComStream, LPL Financial Services, Legacy Northpointe/Viasat, National University and Sabre Springs. One of his Reno highlights was being nominated ASA Project Manager of the Year. Chris lives in Scripps Ranch with his wife and daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, yoga, reading, movies and traveling to sunny tropical climates.


    Erik Kissner

    Director of Field Operations

    Erik, a native of New England, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Clemson University in 1988. He moved from New England to San Diego at that time where he has worked in the local construction industry ever since. Prior to Reno Contracting, Erik gained valuable experience by working on many important projects, like the Initial Academic Buildings at Cal State University - San Marcos, the Point Loma Nazarene College Ryan Library Addition, the Malcolm Love Library Addition at San Diego State University and several large projects for Sony Corporation. Erik joined Reno Contracting in 1998, and has since worked on projects, such as Sorrento Gateway, AMN Healthcare, Dataworks, Diversa Phase I and II for Kilroy Realty, National University, Biosite Corporate Headquarters, and Kilroy Santa Fe Summit. Erik currently lives in San Marcos with his wife Debra, and his two daughters, Samantha and Allison. They all enjoy traveling to New England in the summer and to Hawaii or Palm Springs in the winter or spring. Some of his personal interests include professional and college football, muscle cars, and playing guitar.


    Randy Andrus

    Randy's background and experience includes over 35 years in the construction industry with an extremely diverse mix of project types and delivery systems. His entire career has included complete estimating and preconstruction related services. The first 15 years also included project management responsibilities and he has over 20 years of Design-Build delivery experience, as well. Randy joined the Reno Team as Preconstruction Manager in the beginning of 2004 after spending the previous 14 years as Senior Preconstruction Manager for a top 5 global contractor and a top 100 US contractor in the Los Angeles area. Randy resides in San Diego with his wife Rhonda and daughter Rochelle. In his spare time, Randy enjoys playing golf and traveling.

    Craig graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University in 1979. Craig has a total of 27 years experience in the construction industry, with the past 10 years working for Reno Contracting as Chief Estimator and most recently as Senior Project Manager. Prior to Reno, Craig worked with a Seattle based Contractor for 11 years, estimating and managing large commercial office, bio-med, electronic and industrial projects. He has extensive preconstruction experience and a diverse background covering a large spectrum of the construction industry. Craig currently resides in Carmel Valley with his wife of 27 years and two grown children. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, such as fishing, hunting and golf.

    Senior Project Manager

    Rick graduated from Western Michigan University in 1982 with a BS Degree in Flight Technology. Shortly after that, Rick turned his attention towards the construction industry where, for the last 20 years, he has successfully welcomed the challenges of increasing responsibility, culminating in his being promoted to Vice President of one of ENR's Top 100 Contractors. After several years and many miles of travel, Rick found himself lacking the day-to-day stimulation of managing construction projects. He decided to forego his administrative VP role and return to his passion of project management. Rick's primary focus has been in the design-build arena where he has assisted many clients in achieving their budget goals through value engineering in the preconstruction process and by øhands on" project management. He joined Reno in November 2006 as a Senior Project Manager. Rick has been married to his wife, Rebecca, for almost 30 years. They share their love for the outdoors with their son, Erik, through skiing, boating and family golf outings.


    Dan Schwartzer

    Area Manager - Inland Empire

    Dan has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with the last 10 years with Reno Contracting. Dan started his career with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Cal State Long Beach. He has since been involved in a multitude of high quality projects including the Ridge Park Office Center, Fish and Wildlife for The Allen Group and large-scale development projects like the Kelly Corporate Center. Dan functions on the sincere belief that he represents and works equally for both the company and his clients. Through Reno's exemplary culture and philosophy, an atmosphere of trust and enjoyment are created which enables both parties to achieve great things. Dan and his wife moved north to Hemet, California in 2004 where they currently reside and look forward to expanding Reno Contracting into the Inland Empire. They enjoy traveling the world whenever the opportunity arises.

    Eric joined Reno 9 years ago, and he has a total of 18 years in the construction industry. Starting construction life as a Superintendent, Eric is currently employed as one of Reno's Project Manager's. He began his career with a degree in Construction from Arizona State University. Some of his career highlights include constructing the Invitrogen Lab and Office Buildings, the Viasat Campus buildings and SDG&E Mission Skills Training Facility. Eric, his wife, son and daughter reside in the Clairemont area of San Diego. Apart from spending as much time as he can with his family, Eric also enjoys working on and riding motorcycles.

    Wade is a graduate from Louisiana State University, with a Construction Management Degree. Wade has a total of 26 years experience in the construction industry, with the past 9 years working for Reno Contracting as a Project Engineer and most recently, Project Manager. Some of the projects Wade has been involved in are Invitrogen, Carmel Mountain Tech Center, Intuit Phase II and Carmel Valley Corporate Center. Wade's industry experience has also included involvement with high-end tenant improvement and lab projects, such as Scripps Hospitals in Encinitas and La Jolla, and Terminal 2 Lindbergh Field. He has overseen projects for Wilson Sonsini, Relational Advisors, Peregrine Systems and The Blackmore Company. Wade, his wife and four children reside in Temecula.

    Kevin graduated from the Construction Management department of the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1987. After graduation Kevin relocated to San Diego, and now has a total of 19 years professional experience in San Diego's construction industry. With a heavy focus on the healthcare marketplace, he was involved in significant projects, including Sharp Memorial's Mary Birch Women's Center, Kaiser Permanente, the Children's Hospital of Orange County, and Hyatt's New Care Center. Kevin's background in large-scale projects is evidenced by his experience on the King/Drew Trauma Center in Los Angeles and the UCSD Thornton Hospital Project in La Jolla. Kevin has gained an extensive understanding of the subcontractor market in the Southern California area and he is a valuable asset to the Reno team. Kevin spends his free time surfing, collecting vintage surfboards and surf memorabilia; and with his wife, enjoys completing home improvements and being entertained by their cats.

    A native of Montana, Rod started in the construction trades in 1980 and attended Montana State University. Relocating to the Lake Tahoe area for 13 years, with continuing education in architecture and drafting coupled with civil engineering, Rod worked for a few general contractors before finding his home in San Diego. Rod has worked at Reno for 8 years and been in control of some of its best projects such as, Ridge Park Office Center in Temecula with a total of 3 structural steel buildings on 8 acres. Some of his most memorable projects are also San Diego County Credit Union’s corporate headquarters, Overland Data, Sabre Springs Phase II coupled with the Auld Golf Course. Now as a Project Manager with 18 years as a Superintendent experience Rod brings a lot to the position. He resides in Oceanside with his wife and enjoys exercising, playing golf and being a Porsche aficionado.
