Matthew J. Reno
Chief Executive Officer
Matt earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego in 1980, while he worked as an apprentice and journeyman carpenter. Reno Contracting first started as a partnership called MQ Construction, but in May 1993, the firm's name took its present form. As president and sole owner of Reno Contracting, Matt originally focused on specializing in concrete tilt-up construction and has since expanded to multi-story, steel-frame buildings, as well as laboratory facilities. Under Matt's guidance, the company has developed strong relationships and a loyal client base, which includes Kilroy Realty Corporation, Legacy Partners, Cisterra Partners, AMN Healthcare, Invitrogen, Diversa, and many others. In 2003, Matt won the prestigious "Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Real Estate/Construction category.
As the CEO, devoting many hours to the critical business strategy for Reno Contracting it is equally important to Matt that he balance his career with his family and personal life. He is a devoted husband and father of two children, has been the coach and manager of his daughter's softball team, takes his son fishing and hunting and finds the time to travel with the whole family. His personal philosophy is, "Your legacy in life is not how big your company is, or how many toys you have, but how your kids turn out."
